Hajj Begins in Hajj as Over 1.5 Million Foreign Pilgrims Arrive in Mecca
Hajj has now commenced in Saudi Arabia with more than 1.5 million pilgrims coming from abroad for the purpose in Mecca in the midst of very tense situations as well as energy crises in the region. This occurs in the wake of the efforts being made between the United States and Iran on reaching an agreement to solve the existing conflict which occurred since February 2024. Pilgrims have been forced to perform various worship rituals within the Kaaba and Mina site in very hot weather conditions while the whole world situation is characterized by expensive travel prices as a result of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
